WWE RAW REVIEW - July 29, 2019

I took last week off. While RAW had a reunion, I took a vacation. (I didn't really go on any vacation, I just didn't want to write about the RAW Reunion.)
I'm excited to get back into the reviews; hopefully they give me some good stuff.

I like the 24/7 Title, but I'm not sure the Mike and Maria saga really needs a prop. I think their storyline is good enough without the hardware.
That said, this title may only be involved in their storyline for about five minutes, so maybe I'm worried about nothing.

Not bad. I like a gauntlet match, but it seems unfair to use one as a number one contender match.
Why was Rey given an opportunity that was harder than Ricochet was? Am I to understand there is some sort of ranking system that these competitors fall under?

The first-ever pregnant champion. This is not terrible, if I'm being honest. The 24/7 Title has been zany and off-the-wall, so this fits well.
The other wrestlers will have an obvious dilemma, which can lead to some great TV moments, if done right. Who WILL take this title off of Maria? Who CAN take this title off of Maria?
The plot hole here is when Maria confronted Titus. It's a plot hole because she called Titus the first-ever 24/7 Champion, and NOBODY would really remember that. I'm not sure even Titus remembers that.

Becky Lynch is losing fire fast. I don't really feel any interest in this story.
There's no reason for me to support and appreciate Becky for her near-villainous actions. She's just kind of coming off as conceited.

I'm worried that this O.C. thing is going to miss the mark. Mostly, I think that because I don't foresee there being any meaningful plot that they will be involved in.
What is the shared goal of the O.C.'s members? Why do they exist?

The Viking Raiders, again, defeated some non-name bums, on the flagship program of the most recognizable wresting promotion in the world.
Makes a lot sense.

Again, this was not bad. That's not necessarily a good thing, but it's better than nothing.
I like Natty having a bit of a mean streak, but there's still not much for me to hold on to. There's not a clear cut heel and face, which would be okay if the plot highlighted the subtleties.
But there isn't that, it's just two wrestlers talking shit and trying to back it up; but they're not saying anything with much value to it.

Brock SMASH!
This was seemingly designed to get sympathy for Seth, and I'm sure it worked for some.
It has been rumored that WWE is going to go back to edgier content, and this is a start.
I don't know that I'm much more interested in the outcome of their SummerSlam match, but maybe I'll get there.

I can see, also, an attempt here to make the shows more unpredictable. I like this.
I'm not sure why the involvement of many storylines though. Unpredictable doesn't have to mean random.

Not bad. That seemed to be the overall theme for the night. Hopefully, in the weeks to come, we can get to "good".
Thanks for reading; I'll be back next week for more!
