Last week's WWE RAW brought us explosions, and a few curveballs thrown our way.

Rumors abound that the "PG Era" is in it's dying days, and that we will now begin to see edgier content.

Let's hope we see some of this tonight!

A Mixed Tag Elimination match. How does an elimination match work when it's mixed gender, and you don't allow intergender fighting?

Essentially, as we all saw, if you eliminate an opponent, you then also eliminate yourself. I feel like they didn't think this through.

They managed to get the go-home show beatdowns in for Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans.

I want them to win the titles. I want Becky and Seth to have relationship troubles because of it. I have serious doubts that my wishes will come true.

It's kind of weird, now knowing that Heyman is the Executive Director of RAW, that it's not being addressed on the show.

That said, it would really throw a monkey wrench into a lot of the stories if they jumped right into that.

Also, the reports all say that they want to go away from the "authority figure" shtick.

It's probably a great idea to go away from the authority figure always having such a prominent role.

It feels like that's a very limiting box that almost all of professional wrestling has found a way into.

I liked this promo, at any rate. I've said it before, however, there really wasn't anything new for Paul to say about Brock Lesnar, as he's essentially said it all already; about a thousand times.

Watching The Miz try to act cool with The Usos was hilarious. He did nothing to help stereotypes.

I still loathe the random partnering to combine storylines into a match. It just waters down the focus on both storylines, and leaves me caring less about both stories.

There's not many more performers that seem to be more naturally entertaining than Drake Maverick.

Even in his TNA days as Rockstar Spud, he never failed to deliver the goods.

I'm glad Drake is getting a chance to run (literally) with the 24/7 Title for a while. I knew he would be super funny with it, and he's proved me right!

I audibly sighed a sound of annoyance when I heard Rey Mysterio was coming back to TV.

I just, for whatever reason, never caught the Rey Mysterio fandom. I understand his influence and his stardom, it just simply never made me care.

So, I was actually giddy when The Almighty Bobby Lashley beat the holy hell out of Rey.

Rey's reputation certainly won't be tarnished by getting destroyed once by The Almighty, so I think was a great move to build that monster persona for Lashley.

I like Cesaro looking like the athletic freak of nature that he legitimately is. I also like him having a mean streak, like he's annoyed at the nonsense of everyone else.

I also tremendously enjoy No Way Jose getting his ass kicked. So, this segment was great!

I guess I missed the announcement that The Street Profits are now the hosts of RAW?

In all seriousness; I like these guys a lot, but I'm not sure what their purpose on RAW is.

If the is no reason for them to be there, it may prove difficult for them to connect with the general public.

So this wasn't bad, and it fits the storyline. It kinda feels weird to have a side-by-side video interview when we know they're in the same building.

This feels like the show took a piss break.

I like this. The new heel AJ Styles it's hitting with me. I like that it feels almost maniacal.

This should be a great match at Extreme Rules, and I think they'll give this title to AJ and have a rematch at SummerSlam.

Meanwhile, The Club will make Ricochet's life hell in the interim.

I don't like Bayley. I don't mean that in a "she's a heel, boo her" way.

I mean I don't like her in a "if she went away I would never wonder where she went" way.

I don't know what we're watching here, but I love every second of it. She's crazy, and now the kid might not be his?!?

Is it Becky Lynch's kid? Will Maria give birth to a hand? Who the hell knows? I can't figure it out, and that makes it feel fun.

Maria has went from looking lost in front of the camera, in her early days; to one of the best in the business now.

Cedric Alexander? I guess it's good enough. Anything is better than The Undertaker.

ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN THE UNDERTAKER!

Did they do this just in case the need a back-up when The Undertaker's back goes out from the long plane ride. Or some other old guy ailment like that?

Well, I do think we are starting to see the beginning of some edgier, rougher content.

Obviously, you can't change everything overnight, so I'll need to patient.

All in all, not a bad show, and hopefully we keep getting better from here!

WWE SMACKDOWN REVIEW

JULY 02, 2019

It's time for SMACKDOWN! Bischoff's in charge; will we see an immediate difference?

I'm confused. Are we going back to the babyface, people's-champ Kevin Owens?

Why is he suddenly giving Shane McMahon a hard time?

Why does Dolph Ziggler give two shits about any of this? How does something like this happen?

I still don't understand why we've made this tag team.

There is no increase to the Rowan character. This still feels like he's Daniel Bryan's lackey. Which is great if we are pushing Bryan in singles competition, but that's not what we're doing.

I don't think either guy is actually helping the other much.

Nikki Cross is awesome. She is easily one of my favorite WWE Superstars.

They weren't being subtle this time around; Bayley specifically pointed out that Nikki was able to do the things Alexa could not; therefore NIKKI should be the one getting title shots.

Alexa is in for a mauling when this all concludes.

For whatever reason, all of Ali's promos and vignettes are noticeably different from the majority.

I really like this one. It will be interesting to see what this angle has in store for us.

Is he still going to be a babyface in this role?

Samoa Joe is absolutely one of the best microphone artists in the business.

He legitimately feels like a dangerous sociopath that is capable of ripping your face off.

I also like that Kofi maintains a light-hearted demeanor, in these moments of being challenged to his face. That feels realistic for his character.

I do not care about Andrade. His character is boring and has no discernable purpose or direction.

I do not care about Apollo. His character is boring and has no discernable purpose or direction.

An alliance between Dolph and KO could make for some really great television. Especially when you begin to filter Sami Zayn into the mix.

I'm not exactly sure where all of this is headed, but at least they have me intrigued; wanting to find out.

I thought we were finally going to get a fight?

Perhaps, if Aleister would have answered the door faster, instead of grinning about it; he might have been able to see which Superstar did the knocking.

This story is moving along pretty slowly.

I definitely think this is all so they can hint at a romantic angle between Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville; which could be a very interesting topic to use in 2019.

I'm really not feeling much sympathy for Ember Moon, for what it's worth. In fact, it takes me a few seconds to remember her name each time I have to write it.

Okay then! I guess we ARE getting the people's-champ Kevin Owens?

Not much of this makes a whole lot of sense to me right now; but maybe it will in time.

For some reason, I don't mind that it doesn't make much sense at the moment. Maybe that's because these guys are pretty good at what they do; particularly Kevin Owens.

Okay, I'm not really sure what to make of this week's episode.

There's still not a whole lot of continuity, direction, or purpose; but it's not bad.

WWE RAW REVIEW

JULY 1, 2019

It's time for RAW! With the big news that broke last week, there is tons of excitement for the shows this week!

Is Paul Heyman already making actionable decisions that we can see? Will there be storyline improvements made already?

Let's find out!

Well THAT'S a way to start a show!

This one took me by surprise. I wasn't looking at the screen, I was busy talking to my daughter when I heard a bunch of explosions, and Corey Graves yelling "holy shit."

Because of that, it took me a few moments to understand this was part of the show,  so kudos to WWE for working up such a big stunt to start the show.

Will this add enough intrigue to the Braun and Bobby show? It had been a little lackluster until this.

It's going to be hard to establish The Viking Raiders as a big deal if they are just going to be the extras in the Samoa Joe vs Kofi feud.

That said, we did establish that Joe is capable of ending things for you, really fast. I like that.

I don't, however, feel like there's any chance that Samoa Joe takes that title off of Kofi, so it's a little hard to get invested.

This is the most fun WWE has had in a storyline in quite some time.

It's not only the quirky nature of this concept that makes it so fun, it's also that it's written with complexities and subtleties.

We like R-Truth, but now we're also feeling sympathies towards Drake Maverick; torn between the two greatest loves of his life, seeking ANY way to have them BOTH!

Also it helps that this, by nature, is a long-running storyline. It continues throughout the shows and in-between. WWE has actually turned this into one of the better tools they have.

Will these guys make-out and get it over with, already?

In all seriousness, I'm ready for the return of The Club. The AJ Styles character has gone a little stale, and Gallows & Anderson DEFINITELY need some fresh stuff to do.

But, did Karl Anderson really just put his wife on the line, in a bet? In not sure that's okay to say in 2019?

I know this segment was only here to further the 24/7 Title storyline, but any chance they get to make Cesaro look like a badass, is just fine with me.

Also, any chance they get to beat up No Way Jose is also fine with me.

I like these guys a lot. I'm not entirely sure what the hell they were here for, but I kind of don't mind.

I think they still have some stuff to finish up in NXT, but I can't wait until they are a regular stay on the main roster.

This just doesn't make sense to me. I know the Undertaker tried to explain his actions, but I still don't get it.

Why suddenly decide to take action now. In THIS feud? Not when Shane was beating up Miz's dad? You wait until it's Roman Reigns that is in peril?

Baron Corbin is another performer who I feel gets a little bit better each time I see them.

He is gathering mountains of heat along the way, and I like all of it. He might be the most unlikable wrestler in the industry today.

Lacey beat up Natalya; I'm sure everyone in the arena was SHOCKED by this outcome.

I like this. The Club is messing with both AJ and Ricochet. But, does that just mean we're in for the face AJ and Ricochet vs The Good Brothers?

I hope not. I kinda want the return of the heel Club. I'm worried it won't be very cool if they do it. But, it's got to be better than what these guys are doing now, without it.

Hopefully we're transitioning The Miz away from Shane McMahon, by having him work thid angle with Elias.

Something worries me though, that this Shane McMahon thing is not going away ANY time soon.Click here to like the Spanish Announce Table Podcast on Facebook
Wow. I don't even know what to think about all of this.

It was odd that Mike and Maria were involved in the first place, but I figured they were just hitting the couple angle pretty hard. I had no idea it would turn out how it did.

Mike and Maria are going to end up with some of the weirdest WWE career progressions ever.

More of this. We've talked about this; I like this.

I like the angle being played is that Nikki Cross will eventually figure out she's the star. She's the one winning.

What hell lays in wait for Alexa Bliss when that happens?

This can only be fun, right?

We're going to get some comedy gold out of this; probably from both Drake AND R Truth.

Good! I hope this turns out cool. It feels cool, so far.

I just want something to feel cool; legitimately cool. I feel like this is one of the few things that has any chance of being cool.

Well okay; not terrible.

We got a decent explosion and possible deaths to open the show.

Then, we got a heel turn by AJ Styles, to reunite The Club, at the end.

And some other things happened in the middle.

Let me know what YOU thought!

WWE SMACKDOWN REVIEW

JUNE 25, 2019

We're still fresh into the fallout from Stomping Grounds; RAW was hit or miss. Will SMACKDOWN be more consistent? Will we be intrigued; hanging on the edge of our seats? I hope so. Let's see what happens!

Shane McMahon is the first face I see. I'm torn on this version of the Shane McMahon character. I don't like him, but that might mean he's doing a great job.

We're supposed to not like him; that's not lost on me. I just feel like I dislike him even more, for unintentional things. Things like, not clearly knowing his lines, looking like he's going to have a cocaine-induced heart attack during his matches, etc.

I think I dislike him more for those things, combined with the idea that an actual wrestler could take that screen time; than I do for the story he's telling. Click here to follow @TableShow on Twitter
This again? I'm surprised. I would have thought we were moving on. Dolph addressed the Samoa Joe angle, and his comments about not wanting Joe to be able to take advantage of his hard work makes sense.

I think the better story though, if that's Dolph gripe, is that he goes after Joe. Dolph tries to be the thorn in Joe's side, as Joe prepares for his title shot. Click here to follow TweetTheTable on Instagram
I liked this a lot. Both guys delivered their parts well, and that carried a tension that came through the screen.

The Miz gets a little better, seemingly each time I see him. Maybe him as a featured babyface isn't a bad idea. Click here to like the Spanish Announce Table Podcast on Facebook
As I said in my WWE RAW REVIEW from this week; combining multiple stories into a big tag match makes me care LESS about all of the storylines involved.

I'm not sure why WWE feels the other way, but this happens nearly every episode so I guess I should learn to live with it. Click here to buy some SAT merchandise at The Spanish Announce Merch Table!
Okay, this is the second time I've seen this new Ali vignette. Is he going to be some new-age wrestling Jesus?

Not sure if any long-time Spanish Announce Table fans caught the NWL logo in there?
I guess all our old NWL favorites have turned to a life of substance abuse. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Use #TweetTheTable on Twitter with all your wrestling thoughts. Some of the very best might get read on our next podcast!
I want every Elias entrance to be like this. One liners, smugness; it's all great.

Miz got a beating; so I guess we'll be continuing THIS Shane McMahon feud also. Although, I feel like there's a strong possibility that they're continuing this only to have Miz as a back-up in case Undertaker falls in the shower, or something like that, before Extreme Rules. Click here to subscribe to the The Spanish Announce Table podcast!
I almost forgot we had an Intercontinental Title! I almost forgot we had a Finn Balor and a Shinsuke Nakamura also!

So, the Champion can disappear for weeks on end; and as soon as he gets back, he'll put the title on the line against someone who has been gone EVEN LONGER!

Seems to make a whole lot of sense, right? Click here to use our Amazon Affiliate link! Every purchase you make through this link sends us a an small commission at no extra cost to you!
Nikki Cross won a rematch for Alexa Bliss to take on Bayley. This storyline is going very well.

This feels very relatable, and we without doubt, are headed to a point where Nikki starts to realize that what everyone has been saying about Alexa is true.

But for now, she is none the wiser, and it's making for one of the most intriguing storylines in the company right now. Click here to follow @TableShow on Twitter
I think this was all designed to leave us with the same feeling they gave us on RAW; that we kinda feel bad for Drake Maverick.

At the very least, they are setting the stage for him to flip a switch and go crazy. In not sure what the direction in mind for Drake is, but I wouldn't mind seeing more of him somehow. He consistently finds a way to be entertaining. Click here to follow TweetTheTable on Instagram
FINALLY! Somebody, apparently is ready to pick a fight with Aleister Black.

As much as I joked about this angle; it would be unfair of me to not acknowledge how well Black has performed these promos. This is unique, and I like that.

Though, the question remains; whom is the one who knocks? Click here to like the Spanish Announce Table Podcast on Facebook
Somebody in the writing room is a fan of 2 Out of 3 Falls matches, huh?

Dolph is done, and now it will be simply be Samoa Joe vs Kofi at Extreme Rules. Was this just a way to kill a week? I guess there worse ways to do that, so maybe I shouldn't complain.

I just think, in a time where the fans and wrestlers are telling you that your writing and booking is overly boring and repetitive; you gave us a 2 Out Of 3 Falls rematch of a match we just got 2 days prior.

Not terrible over all; things seemed to move quickly throughout the night, and we can see some new direction in a handful of stories.

How will things play out next week? Let us know what you think! Also, take some time to click some of the scrolling links throughout this article for many ways to connect to, and support, The Spanish Announce Table!
